3D Virtual Insectarium: a tool for territorial innovation in environmental, agricultural and forestry health.

The 3D Virtual Insectarium represents a proposal of applied innovation developed from Vocational Training to improve insect identification and decision making in the fields of environmental, agricultural and forestry health. The students have actively participated in all phases of the process: field work for the collection of species, observation and morphological analysis, interpretation of real situations together with the company Ambient Servei and digitization of organisms through 3D modeling technologies, augmented reality and resin printing.

The result is an interactive platform that allows to visualize insects in three dimensions with high precision, explore their morphology from any angle and consult contextualized interpretative cards. The tool is not limited to taxonomic identification, but incorporates professional criteria and provides guidance on the need for intervention according to the environment and the associated risk.

This project exemplifies the transformative potential of VET when it connects with real needs of the territory and the productive sector. The proposal reinforces the transfer of knowledge between educational center, company and professional environment, transforming a traditional insectarium into an innovative and transferable digital resource, applicable both to training and to real technical contexts.
